FUTURE LEADERS RISE

As industry practitioners, we know how challenging and rigorous the on-campus recruiting cycle is. We created The Deal Room so that elite high school students were prepared for chasing elite jobs.

We are Ivy League graduates and industry veterans. We have taught at Ivy League and NESCAC schools. We speak in acronyms e.g., DCF, LBO, CIM, WACC. We have gone through some of the most rigorous on-campus interviewing, industry training, and client meetings.

We have found current programs geared at recruiting for the most elite industries underwhelming for three reasons:

First, they rely heavily on faculty teaching industry knowledge -- a paradoxical task. Faculty can't tell you what to do if the offering memorandum of a target acquisition is unwilling to sign a non-compete. The real world is messy. Faculty can stick to the textbooks, we prefer street knowledge.

Second, colleges rely either on career offices that lack industry recruiting experience or career clubs that are student-led and disorganized.

Third, most students are at an operational disadvantage. Their first exposure to a DCF model or a consulting case study is during the recruiting cycle, which catches most off guard.


We put The Deal Room together to provide an industry-based competitive-advantage so that students are ahead of the curve before they are even on campus.

How We Produce Results

Boardroom,
Not The Classroom

We cut our teeth in Ivy League classrooms and found them ineffectual for the real-world and for on-campus interview prep. Other programs have professors lecture; we have practitioners engage.

Faculty are too focused on theory -- they care about you understanding minutiae. We focus on industry -- we care about you impressing the managing director, your team, and your client.

ONLY
In-Person.

Jamie Dimon and Jeff Bezos are right. It's why consultants travel to a customer site. It's why family and team bonds are so tight. There is no substitute for in-person learning and the in-person experience.

Other programs have virtual options. We believe capitalism is a full-body, in-person experience.  Go fast? Go alone. Go far? Go together in-person.

Impact,
Not Duration

Students have rigorous schedules and asking them to take more than a week off from their other activities can result in atrophy. We believe in concentrated intensity.

Our programs typically run 7 days in an all-out and all-in sprint that mimics the reality of a consulting project or a live mergers and acquisitions deal.
